Two of the facial filler options we offer at HMS Plastic Surgery in Miami, FL, are Juvéderm Ultra™ and Ultra+™ injections.
Ultra Vs Ultra+ Formulas
Both Ultra and Ultra+ formulas use the proprietary Juvéderm hyaluronic acid gel, but the formulas are slightly different. For thinner skin areas or to place the gel closer to the surface of the skin, smaller molecules are needed. Juvéderm Ultra is better suited to the lips or certain surface lines or under thin skin around the eyes. Ultra Plus is a thicker formula, which is used deeper in the skin.
Both formulas offer instant results to plump under the skin. The treatments can be performed in about 15-20 minutes at our clinic. There are minimal side effects – slight swelling or tenderness may occur at the injection site. The results of both Ultra and Ultra Plus can last six months, but Ultra Plus may last longer, as it is thicker. When the skin loses volume, the injections can be repeated to maintain the desired appearance.
Juvéderm Ultra Treatments
Ultra injections can be used for a wide variety of cosmetic treatments. It is one of the more versatile formulas that Juvéderm offers. For patients who want more pronounced lip enhancement than can be achieved with the Volbella™ formula, Ultra may be a better choice. Other treatment areas include the jawline, nasolabial fold, chin and cheekbones.
Ultra Plus Treatments
Since Ultra+ is a thicker formula, it is best used deeper in the skin. For more pronounced nasolabial folds, Ultra+ injections can add the needed density to smooth and fill these lines. Other treatment areas include the jaw, jowls, chin, cheeks and lips.
